Old fashioned Southern hospitality welcomes you to Sweet Gum Bottom Bed & Breakfast. Enter into a place where time is forgotten... a place to relax, where sitting on the porch is normal. Cotton fields abound and small town friendliness lives on. Come experience the charm and romance of this Victorian home that has been lovingly restored, in 2001, by Ricky and Laura Oswald. This home, circa 1886, features many of the old architectural examples of the time; like 14 foot rounded beaded ceilings, embossed door hinges, leaded glass, fireplaces, nice comfortable porches. Even old-fashioned claw-foot tubs will rest the weary traveler. |

Sweet Gum Bottom is located between Montgomery, Alabama and Mobile, Alabama. The beautiful Florida beaches are just over an hour away. Andalusia is home to the WORLD DOMINOE CHAMPIONSHIP held each July. Guest from all over the world come to "rattle them bones". Another exciting adventure is the RATTLESNAKE RODEO in February, with lots of fun, a large arts and crafts exhibit, live concerts, and plenty of rattlesnake racing. Also you are only minutes from the Gantt and Point A Lakes. Have us pack a picnic lunch and head out for an adventure on our lakefront property.
In season you may choose to pick wild berries, gather a handful of wildflowers, treat yourself to a lazy stroll over 12 acres of beautiful countryside. Enjoy watching deer, squirrels and many other native wildlife.

After winding down from the days activities you will feel pampered when
you indulge yourself in one of our three luxurious guest rooms. Each room is
furnished with period antiques, central heating and cooling, ceiling fans,
and private baths. Fresh flowers, complimentary turndown service, television,
telephone, local newspaper, wake-up weather forecast, and a wonderful nights
rest are yours for the taking. Gourmet chocolates on the pillows, water at your
bedside and beverages with snacks in the fridge are sure to make you feel pampered
in every way. Mornings will awaken you with the smell of fresh-brewed coffee and homemade breads. A full candlelight breakfast or something light and healthy promises to be a special treat. You may choose to enjoy breakfast in the formal dining room or outside overlooking the beautiful landscape. |
