Introduction
Mauvila Mansion a grand stick Italianate home, was built in 1871 by Duncan Parker, a cotton merchant and early sheriff of Mobile. The house is situated on almost two acres in the midtown area of Mobile Alabama. It is convenient to Interstate Highways 10 and 65 and U.S. Highways 90, 98, 43 and 45.
During its history, the mansion has seen many uses. It has been a private
home, a guesthouse hosting elegant weddings, receptions and teas, and a
boarding house serving family style lunch daily.
We are just a short drive from the Mobile River Delta, Dauphin Island,
Gulf Shores, several golf courses, tennis centers and variety of historic
sites. Mauvila Mansion is located in the heart of the Old Dauphin Way
Historic District. Within minutes are Historic churches and the Oakliegh,
Church Street East, DeTonti Square and Leinkauf historic districts.

Sit in the courtyard and fountain area by the dining room, or sun poolside
with a glass of sweet tea, southern style. Plenty of off-street, fenced and lighted parking. A different family style breakfast is served each day in the Dining Room.

There are smoking areas on the veranda and in the courtyard. Smoking is not permitted in the house. A full,hot breakfast is served at your convenience in the dining room.
