After Mrs. Harding's death, the property was inherited by Mrs. Harding's sister and her husband, Mr. & Mrs. Arthur Cowen. They ceased to run it as a hotel as they were very private people, however, the house still served as the community's major meeting place and the Sunday dining place until the late 40's or early 1950's.
