Witness spectacular Alaska sunsets over Sitka Sound and surrounding islands and on clear days view stunning Mt. Edgecumbe. Guests are welcome to enjoy the view from the deck and breakfast areas while leisurely sipping a cup of tea, coffee or cappuccino. After a full day of fishing, hiking, or walking around town guests find the patio hot tub spa relaxing and soothing.
Sitka is easily managed on foot. Guests are within three blocks of shopping, restaurants, schools, harbor, seashore and just a fifteen minute walk to trails, museums, galleries and central business district. Cab from bed and breakfast to business district and attractions is $4.50 (the minimum rate last season). The bed and breakfast is located within this "downtown minimum-cab-rate-zone."

Sitka Tours airport and ferry shuttle buses bring guests right to the door and return guests to the ferry or the airport regardless of the time of day or night for a nominal fee ($3 - $5). Save by purchasing a round-trip ticket for $7. Tickets are interchangeable and honored by both the ferry and airport shuttles.
In addition to the many historical sights, museums, Russian Bishop's House (the oldest Russian building in Alaska), Raptor Center (for bald eagle and owl rehabilitation) totem walk at Sitka National Historic Park and separate dance performances by both the Russian folk dancers and Tlingit Indian dancers, Sitka has a wide variety of outdoor activities and tours available to visitors such as: fishing, kayaking, boating, hiking, biking, diving, sailing, flightseeing, wildlife and sealife and wilderness sightseeing, sea bird and whale watching.

Sitka has excellent halibut and salmon fishing and it's only minutes from the door. The local Sitka Alaska charter fishing boats take great care with their clients and their clients' catch. They will have your fish processed per your specifications and shipped frozen to your home on the date you select so you will be there to receive your prize catch. They also provide all of the equipment.
Spring in Sitka is especially beautiful and our driest months of the year. Bald eagles are spotted year round but are especially abundant March through early July. Visiting Sitka at any time of year is a pleasant experience but June is especially rewarding since world class musicians from five continents travel to Sitka to present the finest in chamber music concerts. Concerts are held Tuesday and Friday evenings throughout the month of June.

Sitka offers some of the finest sea kayaking in the world. Kayaks are available to rent from several outlets in Sitka which can provide you with single or double seat kayaks, gear and training to operate safely with guided trips also available. Diving gear, boat and bike rentals are also available in Sitka.
Fall is full of excellent Alaska whale watching opportunities. Whales are commonly seen from shore at whale park; and whale watching cruises during the winter months offer reduced rates. Whale enthusiasts find the Sitka "Whalefest," an annual early November event, fabulously informative.

Snow boarding, snow mobiling, extreme skiing and sledding are popular winter activities in the mountains at Sitka's back door where the higher elevations receive a heavy snowfall.
When the clouds move out, the temperature plummets, and tiny Swan Lake freezes. Families enjoying ice skating present a picture reminiscent of the past from Currier and Ives and the clear skies offer the opportunity to view one of the most famous Sitka Alaska attractions, the elusive, colorful, dancing, celestial curtain known as the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis).
